10 Essential Tips In Email Marketing

Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

This is an article by Shirley Brown.

Email marketing is used when you obtain the email addresses of visitors to your blog or website by using an opt-in form.

The opt-in form is an area where you request the name and email address of a reader in exchange for a report or information article, usually offered free and as an addition to a sales page.

Once email addresses are procured, subsequent emails are sent, at various intervals, to the reader offering further free information and options to subscribe to membership sites or opportunities to receive further support and advice on a specific topic.

Email marketing is the sending of the periodic emails promoting further benefits.

Top tips when carrying out this type of marketing are:

1. Straight forward opt-in form – make sure the reader knows exactly how to request information using simple boxes and instructions such as one box for their name and another for their email address

2. Opt-out information – always reassure the reader that, should they wish to be removed from a mailing list, this is done without question and immediately

3. Be up front – provide your subscribers with all information regarding subsequent emails and frequency, what they can expect from you and what they will get or benefit from by your emails and information provided

4. Always provide a “call to action” – readers need to be instructed on what to do next so always request a call to action and what will be received by the reader once done

5. Easy reading – make your information easy to read with a basic format, titles, subtitles and key words so a reader can scan the information and get the important facts

6. Request feedback – ask the reader what they want and request feedback and comments on your content and reports. If it doesn’ deliver as promised, ask for advice on improving

7. Regularity – provide updates and information on a regular basis. Your readers will learn to expect newsletters, emails, and so on, on a regular basis so will not be surprised when they receive subsequent emails

8. Varied media – remember there are various ways to access the internet and many people use desktops, laptops, mobile apps, tablets to name a few so the layout of your information is important. Check the content on various devices and make amendments to make it attractive to the eye if possible

9. Remain approachable – let your own character and personality come through in your writing and you will gain association with your readers. If you stay human you can be viewed as a reliable source of information

10. Add value – make sure everything you say provides your reader with a valuable experience such as providing tips, lists, how to achieve something and worthwhile reading.

Tips for Promoting Your Website

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

When you visit a website are you curious about who owns or operates it? Do you check it out, especially if it contains something that peaks your interest? What is the first page you look at?

Your ‘About Us’ page is a vital part of any website. It is actually one of the most visited pages of any and every website. If you want to find out about a company, an organization or an individual, you will probably look at this page first. That is why I have included it in my Tips for Promoting Your Website. So, take advantage of this fact when promoting your website.

Personalize Your Page

One of the first impressions you can make on a potential consumer is from your ‘About Us’ page. This is good news for everyone because it is one of the best pages on your website for you to get creative with and truly personalize.

If your business has a particularly interesting, or unusual, back story relating to how it came about, that could be a fun way to make the most of your ‘About Us’ page. You can use fun images or a pleasing color scheme.

One thing to remember when you’re creating a good and effective ‘About Us’ page is to personalize it enough to suit you and your business. Reveal the how, why, and what your business ultimately stands for. Do not overload your consumers with too much information.
Your ‘About Us’ page should not be too long. Explain succinctly what your company does, and what the goal is, but in a fun and relatable manner.

Optimize your website

Be sure you optimize your website for relevant, repeat organic traffic from search engines. Your title, description and meta tags should reflect what your site is about. The description should be a sentence or two describing the content of the webpage. Now use the main words of the description for the keywords meta tag. If you have a blog update it regularly and optimize each post in the same manner so the search engines can find it.

Post actively on forums and blogs

You can participate in forums where your target audience is reachable. Post useful responses to questions, and include a signature with your website on your profile. You could possibly incorporate your own tips for promoting your website in a discussion. Do not spam as you most likely will be banned.

Publish an e-zine

An e-zine is an online magazine like a newsletter. You can publish your own or subscribe to others. You can find many free directories where you can add your digital newsletter and articles. Ezine Articles is one of the top directories.

Social Media Marketing

Use the strength of social media sites – mainly Twitter and Facebook – to reach your marketing objectives.

So, do not ignore the importance of your “About” page. Use it to your advantage.

You can benefit from the free online advertising tips discussed here. There are many no cost resources on the internet to promote your business, and of course you have the option of paid advertising. I’m sure that using these Tips for Promoting Your Website can be beneficial.

Internet Marketing Strategies

by Rahimah Sultan
photo from blog

As I was taking my morning walk, I was thinking about life’s patterns in general and business ones in particular. We establish certain daily routines that govern what actions we need to take to accomplish what we set out to do. If we work for someone else that employer has a job description with our tasks listed and it usually includes the phrase and other related duties. I was thinking about my Internet Marketing Strategies and what to do to improve them.

As a business owner and Internet Marketer, what marketing strategies can you use to improve your success? Have you written out your job description that includes a plan for marketing strategies and the related duties to accomplish your goal(s)?

You must take stock of where you are and consider where you want to be and how to get there. You must have a very clear purpose and goal. Here are three things to consider.

Market Your Own Product or Someone Else’s

If you do not have a product of your own, there many places to find good products to sell as an affiliate marketer. Click bank, JV Zoo, and Deal Guardian are a few. Just make sure they are good products that solve people’s problems. This is especially important for your list of prospective buyers. You want them to trust you and your recommendations.

Choose Your Platform

Will you be using a blog, social media, mobile media or others? A WordPress blog (Read Article) is an excellent advertising platform over which you have total control.

Online Advertising Techniques

These can include text and banner ads, content advertising, videos and more. Content marketing on your own blog is the best way to go. You can write articles about anything you want and monetize them.

So, put together a job description for yourself that includes the related duties you need to reach your goal and include these three Internet Marketing Strategies for your business.

Internet Marketing Sales Funnel

photo from blog

In order to build an effective Internet Marketing Sales Funnel (Click to read Internet Sales Funnel) you need to first set up a lead capture system to get prospects emails so that you can follow up with them later via an autoresponder. You do not want to send your prospects directly to your offer page only to have them decide not to buy what you have and then lose them forever. The entire concept of a funnel is to get as many people as you can into your system to buy from you at some later date even if they do not purchase anything right away.

After you get their email address you should use your autoresponder to follow up with them and give them another offer. This could be a front-end product, a one-time-only offer or some up-sale item. Make the product or service valuable enough so they will want to buy. Show them how it will solve a problem for them. The one-time-only (OTO) offer and up-sale products can be related and compliment the first purchase. The OTO is a specially priced item that will disappear when the person leaves the page. You can also offer a down-sell which is a watered down version of the initial product purchase but still has value. There are many ways to sell to people once they are in your funnel and you have their email addresses.

When using your autoresponder to send emails to prospects, do not always sell! Offer tips, ask questions and offer updates for upcoming webinars, etc. No one wants to be constantly sold.

Be sure you have a range of different products and services available for those who are serious about building their business. Be sure to keep your Internet Marketing Sales Funnel filled by advertising your lead capture pages.

If you have money in your budget for advertising, you can purchase traffic to help build a subscribership to your list.

To avoid overspending, you MUST monitor your paid campaigns at all times. Other paid sources include ezines, newsletters, Coreg Leads and more.

Always use some sort of lead capture page (a squeeze page) when advertising your products or services.

One of the Best Ways to Make Money Online

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Blogging is one of the best ways to make money online. Blogs are a very popular way of promoting your products and services. They are easy to install, easy to administer, easy to update, and search engines love them. Here are three ways to boost traffic to your blog and start making money online.

1) Update your content regularly

Search engines and blog services love regular updates. It’s very likely that you will get targeted traffic from search engines if you post regularly. I average an article a week. There are pros and cons for this. Some say daily and others say less often is better. It’s really dependent upon your content and your readers. If you’re a beginner you might post less as you may not have the good quality content that long time bloggers have or you don’t want to suffer burn out.

2) Post in forums

You can post in in forums, but don’t spam them. Post something fresh and interesting and put a link to your blog in your signature. Don’t just post in any forum. For example if you’re selling something to do with music, don’t post in forums that have nothing to do with music. Be sure to abide by the guidelines of each forum you use. Forum posting provides valuable one-way links to you that are good for search engine position in Google, Yahoo and Bing.

3) Submit to blog search engines

There are masses of search engines available, that list only blogs. Just do a Google search and you’ll find plenty. These blog search engines will help you with targeted traffic. Be sure to write a good title and a good description for your article so people will easily find it and click on your link.

If you just follow these three steps you’ll start seeing lots of traffic to your blog. Don’t forget to update your blog with fresh unused content that you write yourself. And remember that having a blog is one of the best ways to make money online.

For a step by step guide that reveals how in the next couple
of hours you could be enjoying more traffic and more profits
from video, even if you don’t own a video camera…

Optimal Length For Your Article Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

When choosing an article for your website, make sure that it is the Optimal Length For Your Article Marketing; a length that is optimal for search engine optimization. Your articles should be about 250-500 words. Even if search engine optimization is not your goal, it’s still a good idea to keep your articles within this range for your readers. If your article is any longer, they probably will not stay on your page to finish reading it.

If they leave your page, they end up with only half of the information you’ve written for them and are left with the impression that your site is too “wordy.” Most internet readers don’t read a website page as they would a book, so the shorter the better. If your article is longer than 500 words, you can split it into several pages. Then label the pages so that the reader can pick and choose which part they want to read or so that they know what is coming up next to help them determine if they want to continue.

When writing your article, be sure to proof read it from a site visitor’s point of view before you publish it. Sometimes you can shorten an article by combining certain topics and ideas using headings, subtitles and bullet points. Then, if you choose to do so, those headings can be used as your keywords for search engine optimization.

So, when writing your articles use these tips for the Optimal Length For Your Article Marketing

Affiliate Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Affiliate Marketing is a branch of Internet marketing where the advertisement publisher gets paid for every customer or sale provided by him. Affiliate marketing is the basis for all other Internet marketing strategies.

In affiliate marketing, affiliate management companies, in-house affiliate managers and third party vendors are effectively utilized for E-mail Marketing and Search Engine Marketing for the success of the product. Web traffic can be traced with the help of a third party or owners of the affiliate programs. Originally, affiliate marketing involved lots of spamming, false advertising, trademark infringement, etc. Since the invention of complex algorithms and advanced security, it’s safer to do business and shopping online. This even led to better scrutinizing of terms and conditions by the merchants. As affiliate marketing opened up more opportunities, it also increased marketing competition.

Due to this pressure in-house affiliate programs for merchants were replaced by out-sourced programs. The companies that offer this service have expert affiliate marketing and network program managers who have various affiliate program management techniques. These affiliate networks have publishers associated with them who help with the advertising.

Affiliate marketing was started by cdnow.com who had music oriented websites. They placed a list of music albums on their site and paid others to put those links in their websites when a visitor bought an album through their site. The first company to link with cdnow.com was Geffen Records.

Two months later, a woman proposed an offer to Amazon to sell their books on her website for a certain percentage. They liked the idea and started the Amazon Associates Program. It was more of a commission program where they received a commission if a visitor clicked their links and banners on other’s sites and bought something. Since its inception, the affiliate network has been adopted by various businesses like travel, education, telecom, mobile, gaming, personal finance, retail, and subscription sites.

The compensation methods used are Cost per sale (CPS), Cost per action (CPA), Cost per mile (CPM) and Cost per click (CPC). The first two are the main methods used today. This is because in CPM and CPC, the visitor that turns up on a particular website might not be the targeted audience and a click would be enough to generate a commission. CPS and CPA require that the visitor not only click on the link but also buy something or sign up for some service, which proves that the visitor is in a targeted audience. Only then does the affiliate get paid. So the affiliate should try to send as much targeted traffic as possible to the advertiser to increase his/her returns. For this reason, affiliate marketing is also known as performance marketing. It totally depends upon the performance of the affiliate.

The affiliate team can be differentiated from a sales team by the nature of their jobs. The job of the affiliate team is to get targeted traffic to a point, then the sales team must influence the visitor to buy the product or service.

This is a very effective method because the money is being paid only when results have been achieved. The publisher incurs all the cost except that of initial setup and development of the program, which is incurred by the merchant. Many businesses credit affiliate marketing for their success.
