If you use SEO (search engine optimization) in the right way, it is one of the most effective ways to attract potential customers to your website. If you rank on page one of the SERP (Search Engine Results Pages) you will generate organic traffic.

This is where you need SEO.

In this article I will cover seven SEO trends to leverage in your online advertising.

1) CORE WEB VITALS

Google is rolling out a new algorithm update which integrates a new set of metrics known as Core Web Vitals into what Google has traditionally referred to as “page experience.” These metrics measure how long it takes a user to get to your page, how easy/difficult it is for the user to initially interact with your page, and how easy/difficult it is for the user to become disoriented due to inconsistencies/shifts in your page design.

2) GOOGLE’S BERT

Google’s BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) algorithm uses machine learning and natural processing to understand what users are actually looking for. With the BERT update Google search engine bots are much more “conversational.” Google’s algorithm can interpret the intent of a searcher. In other words, Google can understand things like the human brain.

To optimize for Google’s BERT be sure your content and the keyword intent match. If people are searching for “seo” as a keyword on Google, they want to know about SEO. On the other hand, they may search “seo services” or “seo expert.”

Always perform a keyword search on Google before writing your content to be sure the keyword you’re trying to rank for matches the searchers’ intent. You can do a search to find free and paid SEO tools.

3) KEYWORD RESEARCH

Keyword research is becoming more important. Use long-tail and targeted keywords, and understand the intent. While SEO tools are important to use you need to analyze the SERP for the keyword before selecting it.

If the intent is right, even a low-volume keyword with only 10-20 searches per month can still generate thousands of dollars.

That’s why you do your keyword research with patience and find keywords that can easily rank and generate income for you.

4) ORIGINAL CONTENT

Google still wants original content. That is, unique content that hasn’t been published elsewhere. It must be authentic, useful, and add value in your own brand voice and language.

5) VOICE SEARCH

A staggering number of the global population are using voice search on their mobile phones. These search queries are long-tail and extremely specific.

6) ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Due to the personalization that AI provides, it is changing the SEO and marketing industry. Google uses AI to provide searchers with the results they’re looking for.

7) VIDEO MARKETING

YouTube, the second most popular search engine (Google being number one), has over a billion users. Now is the time to get started with videos if you aren’t already using them.

To optimize video content for search engines, start by optimizing your video channel name and description. Keywords are important, however, don’t overdo it. Just provide a user-friendly description about your channel.

As you start typing the topic of your video, related suggested keywords will pop up in the search field. You can use these for optimizing your video to reach the right audience.

Remember, to rank higher or just to maintain rankings with Google’s ever-evolving algorithm, you need to keep modifying your SEO strategy.

These are seven SEO trends to leverage in your online advertising. Keep these trends in mind and use them to continue driving relevant traffic to your website.

Article Marketing With New Strategies

by Rahimah Sultan

Google and other search engines changed their algorithms which affected how article marketing works. Algorithms have developed over time and are now rewarding relevance and context.  This forces article directory sites like EzineArticles.com to enforce stricter editorial guidelines.

Google wants quality and so do your readers. Your focus can’t be just SEO so you must start placing your content on targeted websites, ezines, blogs and forums that your audience is going to every day.

There was a time when poorly written articles could be published and perform well in the SERPs, if they were stuffed with keywords, even if they were grammatically incorrect. Now you have to perform article marketing with new strategies.

You need to:

Have original content

As article marketing has changed, you can no longer use keyword stuffing or mass produce low-quality content. Your content has to be original.

Write longer articles

In the past you could get away with a blog article of 350 to 500 words, but now longer articles seem to be the trend. Readers want more in-depth information to satisfy their interest. Search engines are designed to weed out short, promotional, and low-value content. So you need to write longer, well-researched informative articles. There is no real rule regarding article length so aim for between 300 to 1000 words of good quality content.

Have originality

Create original content intended for just one website. If you’re considering SEO strategy, article marketing is a valid digital advertising technique that has moved on from its earlier ranking roots. Google’s Keyword Planner is a free tool you can use whenever you need to do SEO research or revamp a site.

Use the power of guest posts

In addition to submitting to article directories, find bloggers who focus on similar subjects and work within similar industries and offer them high-quality articles as guest posts.

Be resourceful

Since article directories are no longer the hottest thing going, consider approaching ezine and newsletter owners with custom content. This won’t generate useful backlinks, but it will get your articles seen by potential customers or clients. Do incorporate links to reputable websites and provide valuable content to guests rather than trying to beat search engine algorithms.

If you want to succeed you can no longer submit an article to thousands of article directories and expect the traffic to come pouring in. You need to do article marketing with new strategies if you want to succeed.

Changes Affecting Content Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

The digital marketing of your products and services has changed drastically in 2019. As you well know, each year, marketing gets more expensive and ever more competitive.

One of the big reasons we are seeing digital marketing change so much is because of the adoption of new technologies, and web saturation. One of the current changes affecting content marketing involves voice search.

SEO for your content marketing is changing to voice search, as more people are using devices like Google Home and Alexa. Other changes affecting content marketing include:

Targeting Micro-Moments

People are checking their mobile phones while in a store ready to purchase an item. They are doing price comparisons, looking up product information, and checking online reviews.

These actions are centered around the micro-moment, the immediate now, and are happening anywhere and anytime.

Generally, people do voice searches when they’re in a hurry. As a marketer, you can use this to your advantage, by targeting the right keywords.

Long-Tail Keywords

Long-tail keywords are best suited to voice searches, as they are more like actual questions people ask.

A long-tail keyword is simply more words combined to mimic people’s speech.

Instead of saying buy dresses, as you would if typing, you’d say buy long denim dresses or buy mini dresses.

Voice searches are more conversational. Wordstream.com and serpstat.com are good keyword tools. Of course you can check online for others and decide which suit your needs and budget.

A Fast-Loading Site

If people leave your site when they’re typing in a search, a slow-loading site is even more detrimental to voice searches. After all, they’re doing voice search because they’re in a hurry.

Be sure your website loads quickly to cut down on the bounce rate.

Knowing Searchers’ Intent

It is important to study what searchers really want when they use your target keywords, whether it’s voice search or text search.

Write your content in a way that answers questions like what, how, when and where.

If your website is based on shoes your keywords should reflect that.

Discuss the type, colors and sizes, how they differ from others and the benefits of owning a pair, and where to purchase them.

Discuss these particular points in your advertising content.

When optimizing your website content for voice SEO or text, what you’re offering needs to match the intent behind the keywords.

Understanding Your Customer

To market successfully you need to know who people are, how they think, and what they want. You must understand your customer.

Create an avatar of your ideal customer. An avatar is a made-up individual that represents your ideal customer. Be as specific as possible; name, age, gender, goals, challenges, etc.

Treat your customer avatar like a real person, and then gear your content directly to their needs and wishes.

Increasing Sales Funnel Generation

Just as with regular text search voice searchers are asking how to do things. Do some keyword research to find out what questions your ideal customer might have and create content that targets those keywords, thus increasing the opportunity to get people to your website.

Then you can start to build a relationship getting them to know, like and trust you which can lead to future sales.

Having A Mobile-Responsive Website

With all the devices used by people searching for information, you know a mobile-responsive website is a must.

People who use voice search are generally using mobile devices. Check your site here.

Finally, you should always test and tweak. Analyze, check your strategy, link building, SEO, and make any needed changes.

You must keep your website and your strategies up to date. By using the suggestions here you will be well on your way to being in step with voice search and the Changes Affecting Content Marketing.

Optimal Length For Your Article Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

When choosing an article for your website, make sure that it is the Optimal Length For Your Article Marketing; a length that is optimal for search engine optimization. Your articles should be about 250-500 words. Even if search engine optimization is not your goal, it’s still a good idea to keep your articles within this range for your readers. If your article is any longer, they probably will not stay on your page to finish reading it.

If they leave your page, they end up with only half of the information you’ve written for them and are left with the impression that your site is too “wordy.” Most internet readers don’t read a website page as they would a book, so the shorter the better. If your article is longer than 500 words, you can split it into several pages. Then label the pages so that the reader can pick and choose which part they want to read or so that they know what is coming up next to help them determine if they want to continue.

When writing your article, be sure to proof read it from a site visitor’s point of view before you publish it. Sometimes you can shorten an article by combining certain topics and ideas using headings, subtitles and bullet points. Then, if you choose to do so, those headings can be used as your keywords for search engine optimization.

So, when writing your articles use these tips for the Optimal Length For Your Article Marketing
