3 Tips for Online Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Before getting into the 3 tips for online marketing, I want to point out that there are many online marketing strategies. There is search engine marketing, social media marketing, and e-mail marketing among others. The main focus of search engine marketing strategies is placing researched keywords in particular places on web pages of a website.

Social media marketing does not involve a large investment because putting a business profile on social networking sites is absolutely free, although you may want to purchase ads in the future.

E-mail marketing is a primary way to build a relationship with customers and encourages customer loyalty. It can offer amazing benefits if they choose to become a subscriber.

Online marketing involves methods used for promoting products and services on the Internet. It includes a wider range of marketing elements than traditional business marketing due to the extra channels and marketing mechanisms available on the web. Here are 3 tips for online marketing.

Optimize Your Website

Website optimization is a phrase that describes the procedures used to design a website to rank well in search engines. Do some keyword research and determine the best relevant keywords and phrases for your niche and web pages. Use and edit the meta tags, image tags, and components of your website to ensure that it is accessible to search engines thus improving the overall chance that your website will be indexed by search engines and have a higher page rank.

Publish an E-newsletter

Figure out what type of email newsletter you want and set it up based on your particular focus. Tell people what to expect on your “subscribe” page and how often you will be emailing them. Do not bombard your subscribers with daily emails and do not overdo the self-promotion. Use your emails to follow up with subscribers about new things that are going on in your business, helpful information and education, and not for just for selling. You do not want to lose potential customers.

Set up a Blog

Blogging is a great way to express yourself and showcase your products and services. Use a WordPress blog and plugins and you have total control. Add an opt-in form and post articles regularly that have a call to action. Be sure your blog is optimized for the search engines. Write a minimum of one article per week to remain relevant or the search engines will not bother to keep your site indexed. Be sure your site looks and reads professionally. Consistent, high-volume content will help you build a steady audience. Some of them will convert into leads and paying customers.

As online marketers, we understand the absolute importance of promotion. Marketing is the lifeline for any business, product or service. I hope these 3 Tips for Online Marketing are useful to you.

MLM Is A Legitimate Business Model

by Rahimah Sultan

This was originally posted on July 20, 2015 with the title Multi-Level Marketing for Additional Income.

MLM (multi-level marketing) IS a legitimate business model. MLM is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit. This recruited sales force is referred to as the participant’s “downline”, and can provide multiple levels of compensation.

MLMs have been around for over a century, are legitimate, and they work for some people.

In multi-level marketing, companies basically promise a chance to leave your 9-5 job, be your own boss, make lots of money and to make new friends in the process.

There is an ongoing debate as to whether these companies and programs are legitimate business opportunities or not.

The reason for most of the confusion is that multi-level marketing companies follow a concept similar to a pyramid scheme, except for two significant differences. One being members at any level of a multi-level marketing model can theoretically make income through the company’s products and/or services without signing up any new members. The second difference is that members of any level in a multi-level marketing plan can earn more than the people who signed them up.

Multi-level marketing companies are legal although structured almost exactly like a pyramid scheme.

A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business that involves the exchange of money, usually in the form of a sign-up fee, and usually has no product or service. Following are some major indicators of a pyramid scheme.

* Programs that focus more on recruitment of new people rather than the sale of a product or service to an end-user consumer.

* Plans that claim you will make money through continued growth of your “downline” rather than through your own sales of products.

* Programs that ask distributors to purchase expensive inventory. There are horror stories of people with a basement or garage full of merchandise that no one will buy.

* Plans that ask you to sign a contract or pay money to participate in a multi-level marketing program, or any business opportunity, without taking your time and reading all of the paperwork.

Talk the opportunity over with a spouse, knowledgeable friend, accountant, or lawyer. If you feel that you are being subjected to high-pressure sales tactics or are not being given enough time to review the details, go elsewhere.

* Products or services are simply vehicles for recruitment. The products may be gimmicks and/or overpriced, but even high quality products may serve as a cover for recruitment activities.

According to the FTC, a pyramid scheme is defined as a company that specifically pays members for recruiting purposes only.

Check the FTC’s website.

To be super-successful in network marketing, you have to recruit new members.
It doesn’t matter how good your product or service is — the real money is in the flow of new recruits.

There’s the age-old debate that standard companies are set up like a pyramid, with a CEO at the top, some more officials under them, managers at the next lower level, and the team under the managers.

MLMs are completely different from standard companies.

Most companies don’t require their new employees to pay a sign-up fee to join, or have the majority of their product sales coming from their own employees, nor do most companies allow workers to personally recruit other employees into the business. HR does that.

Once you have found a legitimate multi-level marketing company that you want to be a part of, you must put in the work to make it profitable. If you want to succeed be disciplined and treat it like a business and be willing to follow advice from others who have made it.

Three Tips for Marketing Success

by Rahimah Sultan

In today’s ever-changing marketplace, it is not enough to have a website. A successful home business requires online marketing strategies the same as an offline business. For your marketing success you must engage in effective marketing to get new customers. In order to achieve your business goals you must establish a budget and master online marketing skills. Here are three tips for marketing success.

1) Your website must be search engine optimized. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a long-term marketing strategy. It is important to have your blog and web pages fully search engine optimized for getting free, targeted traffic from the search engines. Keyword research and use as well as quality incoming links are essential for this to be a successful online marketing strategy.

2) Another long-term strategy is link building. Having incoming links is critical to your marketing success online. Search engines rank your site higher based on the number of good incoming links pointing to it. There are many techniques for building incoming links to your site. One way is writing for article directories.

You want to publish articles in the largest publications that you can, because they get you links when other webmasters use your article on their sites. This is known as syndication. There is a resource box included at the end of your article where you can add your information and your website. This gets you one-way backlinks to your site. You only need to write for a couple of the largest directories. I suggest Ezine Articles directory.

3) Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) is a strategy that will yield fast results, although it requires a financial investment. You should educate yourself about PPC before using it, as you can lose large amounts of money in a very few days. You must be very careful and track each ad promotion, to identify the strategies that get the best results. This will enable you to invest wisely.

Driving traffic to your site is essential for long term success. Hopefully, these Three Tips for Marketing Success help you in your online business.
