Internet Marketing Solutions: 3 Tips

by Rahimah Sultan

You need three key things to grow an online business: Targeted traffic, something to sell, and a marketing funnel.

Learn how to copy the experts so you don’t have to try to work it all out yourself – how to build a website, which products are best sellers or how to send responsive emails.

Here are three Internet Marketing tips to help you move forward with your business adventure.

1) Affiliate marketing is a simple online method and you’ll make faster progress if you work with the guidance of a good coach or mentor. Choose someone who is very successful and has years of experience.

When you have chosen a trusted mentor, just follow that expert’s plan of action. You can search “YouTube for experts in your niche or do a Google search and find the best marketers, the best article writers, or Google experts (Martin Shervington explains Google+), for Facebook (take a look at Marie Smith) or Twitter experts (Yasmin Dendror “Understanding Twitter”). (“SEO step by step” Caimin Jones).” The time spent on research is worth it.

2) Offer an incentive. Create some sort of free bonus offer for everyone who signs up to your email list. This will get people excited about giving you their information because they’re going to get something of value for free. It could teach them something that they did not previously know about the world of internet marketing or whatever niche you are promoting. You simply add an opt-in box, a short description of your gift, and then drive traffic to your site.

3) Build Relationships. Now that you’re all set up with your blog or other platform and are ready to advertise, you need a way to stay in contact with prospective customers. You can do this with an autoresponder which is a program that automatically generates a set response to all messages sent to a particular e-mail address.

Although an autoresponder is usually set up with prewritten emails set to go out at certain intervals, you can also use it to send out broadcasts whenever you wish. You can set up a couple of automatic emails such as a “thank you” for signing up to your list as well as an email with the download link for the free gift. Then you can send out broadcasts whenever you wish, as opposed to relying on an autoresponder sequence.

In summary, Internet Marketing Solutions: 3 Tips includes doing some research to find mentors to help with setting up your online business, offering an incentive for people to join your list, and following up with those people to build relationships so you have someone to buy your products and services.

You must have an online presence to build your brand. That means using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. But, you can’t just open an account. You have to have a strategy to generate a following. It takes a lot of work and talent.

“If you’re currently plotting your break into the social media realm, then you will quickly see that competing for the short attention span folks today have today is rather daunting. You’re going to need a content marketing strategy that will not only interest but engage your audience.”

You must watch for new trends, use your own voice, not be afraid to experiment, be diligent, and maintain quality. Hugh Benjamin details this in his article What It Takes To Successfully Build An Online Presence.

While deciding what to blog about this week, I remembered an article I posted exactly three years ago today. It’s coincidental, if you believe such. I believe things happen for a reason.

I felt like a light topic. My thought process went from summer, books, and library to revisiting this particular article. You can click here to read it.

Email Marketing Done Right

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Email marketing is all about building trust and relationships. There are rules that have to be followed, known as the Can-Spam rules, which state that no unsolicited emails can be sent to individuals. You can Google CAN-SPAM for a list of dos and don’ts. You want your email marketing done right.

So, you have set up your business and you need to let the world know. Just how do you do this?

You set up a lead capture page (LCP), which is also known as a squeeze page or splash page, and advertise it. When people see this page and opt in they are automatically added to your list. Now you can start building a relationship with the pre-written follow-up emails in your autoresponder that are scheduled to go out automatically at specified intervals.

Each email gives a little bit of information about your product or service. Make them short and to the point. Talk about how your product will make their life easier, what it will do for them. Remember, your goal is to build a relationship based on trust so people will buy from you and maybe become a repeat customer. Do not sell, sell, sell in every email.

Although it will take commitment, work and persistence to build your list, you must do it yourself. Build your own list.

Do not buy lists. They are made up of people who have never heard of you or your company. Think like a customer. Would you buy from someone you have never heard of and know nothing about?

Put your customers first by giving them helpful information and tips before referencing your products or services. Email marketing is not a get-rich-quick solution, although it can be a fast way to reach thousands of customers.

Email marketing done right is all about giving your customers useful information and building trusting relationships.

4 Steps for Internet Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

In order to accomplish anything you must take the first step toward it. Consider what needs to be done and make a plan. You lay out your goal and the steps to reach it. It is like putting one foot in front of the other in order to walk, run or sell… you get my drift. Here are four steps for internet marketing to get you started.

Say you want to start an online business and think it will not work for you because you do not know how to sell. Do not let that stop you. Do what you are good at and learn the rest as you build your business. That’s like putting one foot in front of the other, taking one step at a time while gaining momentum.

Set up a blog and write about what you know. The articles should be about your area of expertise and how to do what you do. Good content is the backbone of marketing. Your content should provide value, solve an existing problem that people may be experiencing, create connections, form relationships, and build an audience.

Add a call to action with a link to be clicked for more information or to buy or to follow.

Use an autoresponder to create a mailing list of the people who visit your site so you can connect with them to provide help, solve problems, and continue to deliver great content. This does not involve selling.

You can be social by using a couple of the major social media platforms, which will in turn get you visitors without you selling direct. Always be about helping people and you will gain customers.

So, do what you are good at and use these tips as your first steps toward long-term online success. To summarize:

Step 1) Set up your blog
Step 2) Provide content
Step 3) Add call to action
Step 4) Create mailing list

This is selling without always being direct. Once you have a list of prospects, you can email them every so often with your offers. Use these Four Steps for Internet Marketing for your long-term business success.
