Email Marketing Done Right

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Email marketing is all about building trust and relationships. There are rules that have to be followed, known as the Can-Spam rules, which state that no unsolicited emails can be sent to individuals. You can Google CAN-SPAM for a list of dos and don’ts. You want your email marketing done right.

So, you have set up your business and you need to let the world know. Just how do you do this?

You set up a lead capture page (LCP), which is also known as a squeeze page or splash page, and advertise it. When people see this page and opt in they are automatically added to your list. Now you can start building a relationship with the pre-written follow-up emails in your autoresponder that are scheduled to go out automatically at specified intervals.

Each email gives a little bit of information about your product or service. Make them short and to the point. Talk about how your product will make their life easier, what it will do for them. Remember, your goal is to build a relationship based on trust so people will buy from you and maybe become a repeat customer. Do not sell, sell, sell in every email.

Although it will take commitment, work and persistence to build your list, you must do it yourself. Build your own list.

Do not buy lists. They are made up of people who have never heard of you or your company. Think like a customer. Would you buy from someone you have never heard of and know nothing about?

Put your customers first by giving them helpful information and tips before referencing your products or services. Email marketing is not a get-rich-quick solution, although it can be a fast way to reach thousands of customers.

Email marketing done right is all about giving your customers useful information and building trusting relationships.

4 Steps for Internet Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

In order to accomplish anything you must take the first step toward it. Consider what needs to be done and make a plan. You lay out your goal and the steps to reach it. It is like putting one foot in front of the other in order to walk, run or sell… you get my drift. Here are four steps for internet marketing to get you started.

Say you want to start an online business and think it will not work for you because you do not know how to sell. Do not let that stop you. Do what you are good at and learn the rest as you build your business. That’s like putting one foot in front of the other, taking one step at a time while gaining momentum.

Set up a blog and write about what you know. The articles should be about your area of expertise and how to do what you do. Good content is the backbone of marketing. Your content should provide value, solve an existing problem that people may be experiencing, create connections, form relationships, and build an audience.

Add a call to action with a link to be clicked for more information or to buy or to follow.

Use an autoresponder to create a mailing list of the people who visit your site so you can connect with them to provide help, solve problems, and continue to deliver great content. This does not involve selling.

You can be social by using a couple of the major social media platforms, which will in turn get you visitors without you selling direct. Always be about helping people and you will gain customers.

So, do what you are good at and use these tips as your first steps toward long-term online success. To summarize:

Step 1) Set up your blog
Step 2) Provide content
Step 3) Add call to action
Step 4) Create mailing list

This is selling without always being direct. Once you have a list of prospects, you can email them every so often with your offers. Use these Four Steps for Internet Marketing for your long-term business success.

3 Tips on Internet Marketing Training

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Running a website is a great if it is not just a general site. Your site needs to have a particular focus on a specific aspect of a particular niche. Once you have decided what to focus on set up your site, get it online and start directing people to it. Here are three tips on internet marketing training.

1) Instant Success

There are claims daily about how easily and quickly someone became rich online, but what is not mentioned is what it took to gain that success. It took a dream and commitment. Internet marketing takes work.

If you have never done business online and are now considering it, you might want to think about investing in some training and coaching before jumping in. Take a few days to check out some systems and coaches so that you have 24-hour access to needed information and assistance.

2) Bright Shiny Objects

Do not let every new program or system advertised throw you off course. There are hundreds online and new ones coming out every day touting the “get-rich-quick” scheme or the “we-do-all-the-work” thing. Your success is dependent upon your own efforts and you need to be in control. Stay focused on what you want to achieve.

3) Advertising

You do not need to be everywhere online, just where your traffic is. When you start online you will most likely be a one-person operation. All the work will be done by you. If you set up a blog, you will be writing all the posts unless you hire a writer. You will be doing all the advertising, and you may have a limited budget. To get free traffic you must view others’ ads for credits to send out mailings. Social media sites are great if they fit into your plan. Who will do the posting? These are just a few considerations.

Growing a list of subscribers is great, although it’s not the ‘be all’, ‘end all’ of Internet marketing. Having a list and communicating with those people can gain you many buyers and in the end, many friendships.

Be clear about your message (niche), your brand, and your offer. Continue learning more and more about your niche and put it out there in clear and concise content. As things are forever changing, your learning will be ongoing. Keep in mind these Three Tips on Internet Marketing Training.

by Rahimah Sultan
photo from blog

Working for yourself affords many personal benefits, although the ultimate goal is creating revenue. When it comes to advertising your website there are many options that include free and low-cost ad techniques that include social media.

While sharing information about your brand, products or services through posts, tweets, images and video, you have the opportunity to develop an honest bond with customers who are left feeling good about purchasing from you. Whatever marketing paths you choose there are three things to understand about Internet marketing.

1) Web Design

Even though you are utilizing fresh blog articles, a mobile-responsive design and other optimization techniques, your website should be user-friendly and interesting enough to make visitors stay. These key web design features will all play an important part in your advertising strategies.

2) SEO

Proper use of SEO can make a big impact on how well you perform over competitors in your niche. While incorporating relevant keywords throughout your site is an important step, it is not the only one. Other factors to consider are links to your site, social media, and reviews – links from high-quality and authoritative sites being the most important of these. Search engines see these links as votes of confidence for your site, allowing for higher rankings.

3) Selling is a Process

You have to understand your target audience and their needs, then create content for all stages of your sales funnel, which allows you to have a much higher chance of turning site visitors into paying customers. Traffic is not the most important metric when it comes to measuring online marketing success. Your focus should be your site’s ability to turn visitors into leads.

Internet marketing is a constantly-changing industry. Practices shift and search engine results pages become increasingly competitive. What works today may not work a month from now.

Having a good web design with proper SEO goes a long way in your marketing process as does knowing your target audience and their needs. These are 3 things to understand about Internet marketing to aide in your online success.

3 Tips for Structuring Emails

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

I am sure you know the saying, “The devil in the detail.” When people say the devil in the detail they mean that small things in plans and schemes that are often overlooked can cause serious problems later on. When using email marketing you must pay attention to detail. These three tips for structuring emails can help you do that.

The term is usually used to refer to sending email messages with the intent of acquiring new customers, encouraging customer loyalty and repeat business, retaining customers, and winning back former customers. When you use email marketing for advertising it needs to look professional.

1) Use Eye-Catching Subject Lines

Subject lines should catch the attention of the reader. Think of something that would make you want to open an email. If you think you cannot come up with attention- grabbing subjects just look at others, that you come across online, for ideas.

2) No Misleading Subjects

Be creative without using misleading subject lines. The subject should always be related to what is in the body of the email. As you want to preserve your online integrity, do not try to trick people.

3) Avoid Spam Triggers

Avoid spam triggers in your subjects and in the body of your emails such as the overuse of the word free and the use of symbols (Fr*e or FR33) to disguise spammy words that will land your email in junk mail and spam folders. Spam filters look at your email as a whole. There are quite a few spam-checking tools available for checking emails before you send them.

When composing your emails use proper grammar rules, great subject lines that are not misleading, and avoid spam triggers. These 3 Tips for Structuring Emails can help you get started with your email campaign.

Myths of Content Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

There are some myths floating around about content marketing. Jeff Bullas discusses seven of them in 7 Big Myths of Content Marketing.

“Content marketing has become an art and a science.” It involves telling stories with a bit of marketing added. Engagement with prospective customers is a must. The creation of content alone will not attract opportunities and produce business changing marketing strategies.

Content marketing is not just about search engines. You need to write for humans. It is many moving parts that include images, videos, blog posts, many social networks, multiple media, metrics, optimization, email, search and more.

The article points out that many bloggers (and content marketers) have fallen into the trap of only giving away free content. They forget to ask for something in return. They think that conversion from traffic to leads and sales will happen on its own.

“Want something for free like a free PDF then I need an email in return. Want to read that ebook. That will be $7 thank you. Want some premium resources and maybe online training then the credit card needs some loving.”

Great content marketing achieves 3 goals: Traffic, engagement and conversion.

Promotion With Article Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Several years ago if you wanted to rank high in Google’s search, article marketing was the way to do it, using competitive long-tailed keywords for the same articles on different sites. It was free content. Once spammers learned they could get ranked on the first page of Google search, they set up sites specifically for ranking, using keyword stuffing. These keywords had very little, if anything, to do with the information or products on their sites. Google has cracked down on this practice by allowing only original content to be published for promotion with article marketing.

The point of article marketing is to get one-way backlinks to your site. There is an area called a “Resource Box” where you can put a bit of information about your business and a couple of links pointing back to you.

You can no longer go to different article marketing sites with the same article. If it is published anyplace on the Internet it will be rejected as duplicate content. To get the most natural links create some unique content that no one else has published, and do it on a site you own. Then do promotion with article marketing using your own original articles, and use different marketing strategies to promote your site. You can still use article marketing sites or directories for publishing content, but it must be original.

Write content for your particular audience that solves a particular problem and encourages engagement. Content marketing is about sharing valuable information to attract prospects and turning them into customers and repeat buyers. Choose a topic or niche for your site and begin writing articles based on that and start Promotion With Article Marketing.
