Internet Marketing Training
by Rahimah Sultan
A few years ago I worked four years at a federal government supported program. While there I had seriously begun checking into working online and internet marketing training. The person who was my supervisor had established the office where I was employed. She passed away about a year before I was scheduled to leave. The new supervisor was from out of state and not able to be in the office until about six months later.
In the meantime, I and one other staff member basically ran the office, with the help of two area directors from two different offices who had signature authority. Needless to say, that was a very stressful time.
When the new director arrived he wanted me to overhaul the office which included sorting and discarding old files and rearranging files and the filing system that had been in place for about 15 years. This was a lot of work to try to squeeze into my allotted 20 hours a week, but it had to be done along with my other duties. Of course I ended up working more hours. Each day I would dash home to do my internet marketing training.
This was a challenging dilemma for me as I was just starting to get into the online business world and was on overload with the learning curve involved in internet marketing. As I only had a certain number of months left in the program, the director and I compromised. He allowed me to take the extra hours off at the end of my time. That allowed me to leave that job sooner and to be able to focus solely on my internet marketing training.
Sometimes things just do not go as planned and we have to switch gears or just hang in there and do what we can until things become manageable again. There will always be challenges to overcome in life and certainly in the internet marketing business. You must have commitment, set your priorities, focus, and do the required work, and you must not spread yourself too thin.
Through commitment, focus, work, and Internet Marketing Training you can overcome challenges you may face in your online efforts.

4 Content Marketing Promotion Tips
by Rahimah Sultan

Content marketing is sharing valuable content to attract prospects and turn them into customers and repeat buyers. Most content is created and published with a particular audience in mind. It includes blog posts, articles, website copy, letters to customers, social media posts, podcasts, recorded interviews, infographics, photos, and video. Here are 4 Content Marketing Promotion Tips.
1. Who is Your Audience?
When writing content you must decide who it is for—the audience you want to connect with. If you blog about jewelry you want to connect with people interested in jewelry, but you must narrow the niche to serve a particular audience. You might narrow the field to designing and making your own jewelry.
2. Can You Solve a Particular Problem?
How does what you are offering solve a particular problem your customers might have? If you can solve their problems you become the go-to expert. Tell a story about your experience in the business. Incorporate video to show how to make certain items or how to use different tools.
3. How Do You Keep Your Readers Engaged?
What stories can you tell about your experiences? Use them to make your articles interesting, and ask your audience to relate theirs. You can ask them to present any questions they might have or ask them to subscribe to your newsletter through which you deliver information on a regular basis.
4. Provide a Call to Action
Always provide a strong call to action that has a clear message such as, “For more information” or “To get your packet contact me here…”
After all, the point is to get business to your site so give readers clear instructions. You can have them fill out a form so you can follow up with them.
Use engaging and informative content and post on a regular basis. These 4 Content Marketing Promotion Tips can help to improve your effort.

Blogging: Your Message
by Rahimah Sultan

The term blog originated from weblog and then weblog became just blog. A weblog is just that, a web log that is an online journal or diary kept by individuals. The term is also used as a verb that means to add information or posts. Since the mid-1990s blogging has become progressively easier with easy-to-use publishing tools and is now the predominant way of self-publishing.
Blogging has become an essential way to get your message out to others. You can incorporate text, pictures, links, short videos, or other media in your posts that make your content more appealing to readers.
There are many platforms for blogs that including WordPress.com, WordPress.org, Blogger, and Tumblr. There are pros and cons to consider when choosing a platform. You have to make an assessment and choose the one that best suits your needs for now and in the future.
WordPress.com is free but you do not technically own your blog, it can be suspended at any time, and .wordpress is in your domain name; while WordPress.org is free, you have control, and there are search engine-friendly options, but you must pay a host to support it.
WordPress.org requires you to have some basic understanding of how the web servers and the installation process works. Although you can set one up in under 5 minutes, WordPress.org requires some technical skills for uploading files to a web server using FTP (file transfer protocol) and such.
Blogging is a way to showcase your passion and expertise and a way to brand yourself and your products. It allows you to present your knowledge and skills to the public. A good post can be as short as 250 words.
If you have been thinking about blogging, now may be the time to start. Once you get your blog up and running and get a few followers your confidence will grow. Just take the first step.
15 Top Facebook Privacy Tips
by Rahimah Sultan
You wouldn’t have to worry about privacy issues on Facebook if you didn’t post sensitive, private information on Facebook…such as information that one day can be used against you. And really, you should share only what you consider “professional” information, even with family. Just stop with the nonsense.
At any rate, it’s important to know how to use Facebook’s privacy features, which change from time to time. Here are useful tips.
Go to Start, then Account, then Privacy Settings, then Edit Your Profile.
In the Edit Your Profile feature, go through everything there and set things up. There are multiple data fields. To get their drop-down menus, hit the lock on the right of the fields.
Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your timeline” Set this so your friends can’t make posts that include you that appear on your timeline without your knowledge and/or permission. A friend may tag you in something racist or sexist that makes you look bad by association.
“Ads and Friends.” Set this so people can’t see which businesses you have friended if you’d like. For example, if you’re Liked a “bondage” shop because it was funny to Like it, it might not be in your best interests that a potential employer sees this.
“Do you want other search engines to link to your timeline” Set this to prevent people from finding your timeline entries when they do Google searches. Theres no reason a private FB needs this setting live.
“Limit the audience for posts you’ve shared with friends of friends or Public?” Set this to avoid letting a wide audience see your old posts. You may have had a cock tail or two one night and posted something you may regret the next day.
“Log-in approval” This is big. signing up for this ensures that no one else can easily log into your Facebook account.
Friends Lists. Click Edit Friends after you click Account. Go to Create a List to categorize your “friends,” such as those from work only or “share everything.”
To restrict access, you can choose…

Tips for Email Marketing
by Rahimah Sultan
Although this may be stating the obvious, you should always take the time to double check your messages before sending. People form impressions about you through everything you do online. If you want to present a professional image to the public, always show yourself in the best light possible. Following are some tips for email marketing that are often overlooked, especially if you are not a seasoned marketer.
Headline
Consider your headline or subject. Keep it short and give a hint of what is in the body of the email. Do not over punctuate. You can use upper-case letters for the first letter of important words, and avoid exclamation points.
Body
Begin the body with a salutation such as “Hello or Hi” (first name) if you are mailing your list. If you are mailing your list you no doubt have an autoresponder to enter these codes. However, if you are mailing to Safelists and Traffic Exchanges as a free member, and you do not have this option, just type in “Hello Fellow Marketer,” or Hi Fellow Entrepreneur or something similar. Do not leave brackets such as [First_Name] or {First Name}.
People prefer skimming to reading, so keep it short while pointing out the main purpose of your product or service. Then include a link that they can click for more information. Only use one clickable link or at most two, so it does not end up in a spam folder and never get seen. If you use two, place one after a few sentences or a short paragraph and the other just before the closing. Make sure the line length is no more than ten words across. If you use email swipe copy, check it before sending. I would avoid contractions like I’m, we’re, don’t, or you’re, etc. Type out the complete words — I am, we are, do not, or you are — as they may show up as symbols such as I’ve and one….
Closing and Signature
Be sure to use a closing that suits your personality, something like Warm regards, To your success or Much success, and include your real name and your “unlinked” website, Skype address, email or some way for people to contact you.
Example:
Have a Great Day,

Online Marketing as an Alternative for Baby Boomers
by Rahimah Sultan
Lillie Lacy discusses some alternatives for the future of the Baby Boomers, who may not have saved enough for retirement. One choice is to keep working as long as possible, and another is to start an online business. Online marketing as an alternative for Baby Boomers is a beneficial choice, as it can be done from home and almost any place in the world.
‘As a group, they were the wealthiest, most active, and most physically fit generation up to that time, and amongst the first to grow up genuinely expecting the world to improve with time. They were also the generation that received peak levels of income; therefore they could reap the benefits of abundant levels of food, apparel, retirement programs, and sometimes even “midlife crisis” products. The increased consumerism for this generation has been regularly criticized as excessive.’
Many people are using Internet Marketing as a means for extra money or a fulltime income and are very successful. Just think it through, make a plan and use online marketing as an alternative for Baby Boomers.

Internet Marketing Tool
by Rahimah Sultan
As Internet Marketers, we understand the absolute importance of promotion. Marketing is the lifeline for any business, product or service. Just as we need a website and an autoresponder, we need places to advertise like safelists and traffic exchanges among others. I recently discovered another great Internet Marketing tool to add to my marketing arsenal. It is Hot Spot Mailer, owned by Maryanne Myers, and it has been around since May of 2009.
You need a widespread reach, targeted audiences, and cost-effective advertising for whatever business you are in. You can use this mailer for free or choose the upgrade. As I want to fill my marketing arsenal with paid one-time-only items–as opposed to a monthly fee–I upgraded. It is dirt cheap.
You are not limited to once a day or week on mailing an ad, as long as you have credits. You will definitely benefit from the upgrade. You can choose to have members emails come to your designated email address or you can use your HSM (Hotspotmailer) email box.
If you should happen to run short of funds at some future time, you will always have this mailer in your Internet marketing tools arsenal with no monthly fee.
Your Commitment To Internet Marketing
by Rahimah Sultan
If you are starting a business are you fully committed to doing what it takes to make it a success? Have you decided what avenues to use for growth? What is your commitment to Internet Marketing for your business and how do you deal with the marketing?
Are you going to use a blog, social media, traffic exchanges, safe lists, and email marketing? Will you use both paid and free sources. You must include a marketing strategy in your business plan and it has to outline the way you will handle your marketing.
The first thing you must know before starting a business is your personality and philosophy. Are you a person who is passionate, persistent and who perseveres once you commit to something?
I was reading a magazine article by Dr. Philllip C. McGraw in which he stated, “The way you do anything is the way you do everything.”
He went on to say that at age 12 he discovered that he was an all-or-nothing person. If he let himself get careless in school, everything else started to slide. If he aimed to be the best in one area that commitment raised his game across the board.
If in your commitment to Internet Marketing you decide to use a blog as your platform you must make regular posts.
When using social media you have to follow through with ways that increases your audience, engagement, and sales.
With traffic exchanges and safe lists you have to pay for traffic or surf for credits or do both in order to send out mailings (Ads) daily.
So figure out your philosophy or guiding principle which in turn will determine your commitment to Internet Marketing for your business.

3 Tips for Online Marketing
by Rahimah Sultan
Before getting into the 3 tips for online marketing, I want to point out that there are many online marketing strategies. There is search engine marketing, social media marketing, and e-mail marketing among others. The main focus of search engine marketing strategies is placing researched keywords in particular places on web pages of a website.
Social media marketing does not involve a large investment because putting a business profile on social networking sites is absolutely free, although you may want to purchase ads in the future.
E-mail marketing is a primary way to build a relationship with customers and encourages customer loyalty. It can offer amazing benefits if they choose to become a subscriber.
Online marketing involves methods used for promoting products and services on the Internet. It includes a wider range of marketing elements than traditional business marketing due to the extra channels and marketing mechanisms available on the web. Here are 3 tips for online marketing.
Optimize Your Website
Website optimization is a phrase that describes the procedures used to design a website to rank well in search engines. Do some keyword research and determine the best relevant keywords and phrases for your niche and web pages. Use and edit the meta tags, image tags, and components of your website to ensure that it is accessible to search engines thus improving the overall chance that your website will be indexed by search engines and have a higher page rank.
Publish an E-newsletter
Figure out what type of email newsletter you want and set it up based on your particular focus. Tell people what to expect on your “subscribe” page and how often you will be emailing them. Do not bombard your subscribers with daily emails and do not overdo the self-promotion. Use your emails to follow up with subscribers about new things that are going on in your business, helpful information and education, and not for just for selling. You do not want to lose potential customers.
Set up a Blog
Blogging is a great way to express yourself and showcase your products and services. Use a WordPress blog and plugins and you have total control. Add an opt-in form and post articles regularly that have a call to action. Be sure your blog is optimized for the search engines. Write a minimum of one article per week to remain relevant or the search engines will not bother to keep your site indexed. Be sure your site looks and reads professionally. Consistent, high-volume content will help you build a steady audience. Some of them will convert into leads and paying customers.
As online marketers, we understand the absolute importance of promotion. Marketing is the lifeline for any business, product or service. I hope these 3 Tips for Online Marketing are useful to you.
