Do you have an online presence? Blogging is one way to establish an online existence, especially if you have or want to start a business. If you are already set up with a blog, you most likely know about the four benefits of article marketing that I am presenting here. If you are a beginning blogger, you can use this information as you move forward. Article marketing can bring more visibility to your site and establish your authority. Use article marketing to add fresh content to your site.

Content

Fresh content keeps your blog up to date. People will want to return to your blog when you share new, useful information, especially something that will solve some problem they may be experiencing. You can use a call to action in your post that invites people to purchase an item you may be selling that will solve their particular difficulty. As you make more posts, your site visibility will begin to increase.

Visibility

Once you gain more visibility in the search engines you begin to look more authoritative. When people do searches and they find your site, you have the opportunity to make more sales. It stands to reason that the more problems you solve the more people will follow you, making you an authority.

Authority

One of the best ways to showcase your knowledge and skills is content that can help your audience. When this is accomplished, you can become an authority figure in your business.

Communication

You can share your blog content on social media to encourage communication with your target audience and then use those channels to promote audience participation.

Myths of Content Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

There are some myths floating around about content marketing. Jeff Bullas discusses seven of them in 7 Big Myths of Content Marketing.

“Content marketing has become an art and a science.” It involves telling stories with a bit of marketing added. Engagement with prospective customers is a must. The creation of content alone will not attract opportunities and produce business changing marketing strategies.

Content marketing is not just about search engines. You need to write for humans. It is many moving parts that include images, videos, blog posts, many social networks, multiple media, metrics, optimization, email, search and more.

The article points out that many bloggers (and content marketers) have fallen into the trap of only giving away free content. They forget to ask for something in return. They think that conversion from traffic to leads and sales will happen on its own.

“Want something for free like a free PDF then I need an email in return. Want to read that ebook. That will be $7 thank you. Want some premium resources and maybe online training then the credit card needs some loving.”

Great content marketing achieves 3 goals: Traffic, engagement and conversion.

Promotion With Article Marketing

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Several years ago if you wanted to rank high in Google’s search, article marketing was the way to do it, using competitive long-tailed keywords for the same articles on different sites. It was free content. Once spammers learned they could get ranked on the first page of Google search, they set up sites specifically for ranking, using keyword stuffing. These keywords had very little, if anything, to do with the information or products on their sites. Google has cracked down on this practice by allowing only original content to be published for promotion with article marketing.

The point of article marketing is to get one-way backlinks to your site. There is an area called a “Resource Box” where you can put a bit of information about your business and a couple of links pointing back to you.

You can no longer go to different article marketing sites with the same article. If it is published anyplace on the Internet it will be rejected as duplicate content. To get the most natural links create some unique content that no one else has published, and do it on a site you own. Then do promotion with article marketing using your own original articles, and use different marketing strategies to promote your site. You can still use article marketing sites or directories for publishing content, but it must be original.

Write content for your particular audience that solves a particular problem and encourages engagement. Content marketing is about sharing valuable information to attract prospects and turning them into customers and repeat buyers. Choose a topic or niche for your site and begin writing articles based on that and start Promotion With Article Marketing.

4 Content Marketing Promotion Tips

by Rahimah Sultan

Content marketing is sharing valuable content to attract prospects and turn them into customers and repeat buyers. Most content is created and published with a particular audience in mind. It includes blog posts, articles, website copy, letters to customers, social media posts, podcasts, recorded interviews, infographics, photos, and video. Here are 4 Content Marketing Promotion Tips.

1. Who is Your Audience?

When writing content you must decide who it is for—the audience you want to connect with. If you blog about jewelry you want to connect with people interested in jewelry, but you must narrow the niche to serve a particular audience. You might narrow the field to designing and making your own jewelry.

2. Can You Solve a Particular Problem?

How does what you are offering solve a particular problem your customers might have? If you can solve their problems you become the go-to expert. Tell a story about your experience in the business. Incorporate video to show how to make certain items or how to use different tools.

3. How Do You Keep Your Readers Engaged?

What stories can you tell about your experiences? Use them to make your articles interesting, and ask your audience to relate theirs. You can ask them to present any questions they might have or ask them to subscribe to your newsletter through which you deliver information on a regular basis.

4. Provide a Call to Action

Always provide a strong call to action that has a clear message such as, “For more information” or “To get your packet contact me here…”

After all, the point is to get business to your site so give readers clear instructions. You can have them fill out a form so you can follow up with them.

Use engaging and informative content and post on a regular basis. These 4 Content Marketing Promotion Tips can help to improve your effort.

Blogging: Your Message

by Rahimah Sultan

The term blog originated from weblog and then weblog became just blog. A weblog is just that, a web log that is an online journal or diary kept by individuals. The term is also used as a verb that means to add information or posts. Since the mid-1990s blogging has become progressively easier with easy-to-use publishing tools and is now the predominant way of self-publishing.

Blogging has become an essential way to get your message out to others. You can incorporate text, pictures, links, short videos, or other media in your posts that make your content more appealing to readers.

There are many platforms for blogs that including WordPress.com, WordPress.org, Blogger, and Tumblr. There are pros and cons to consider when choosing a platform. You have to make an assessment and choose the one that best suits your needs for now and in the future.

WordPress.com is free but you do not technically own your blog, it can be suspended at any time, and .wordpress is in your domain name; while WordPress.org is free, you have control, and there are search engine-friendly options, but you must pay a host to support it.

WordPress.org requires you to have some basic understanding of how the web servers and the installation process works. Although you can set one up in under 5 minutes, WordPress.org requires some technical skills for uploading files to a web server using FTP (file transfer protocol) and such.

Blogging is a way to showcase your passion and expertise and a way to brand yourself and your products. It allows you to present your knowledge and skills to the public. A good post can be as short as 250 words.

If you have been thinking about blogging, now may be the time to start. Once you get your blog up and running and get a few followers your confidence will grow. Just take the first step.

Affiliate Marketing Mistakes

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Affiliate marketing is a great way for bloggers and other content creators to earn revenue; however, there are plenty of mistakes that can be made when first getting into this business.

New people tend to make affiliate marketing mistakes that can be avoided with a little know-how beforehand. Firstly, do not join too many programs. What you should do is select a few reputable networks and start small and focus on them until they start converting. It does not matter what the program is, success is determined more by the strategies used in affiliate marketing rather than the source.

You must invest in the proper resources, conduct tracking and know what your competitors are up to, while not copying them. It is also good to get advice from reputable companies.

Do not run too many campaigns simultaneously. Concentrate more on strategy and develop a broad knowledge of effective tactics before taking a shot in dark with several campaigns. Good publishers will pursue a strong working knowledge of industry tools prior to launching every campaign they are offered.

Not using SEO is another one of the affiliate marketing mistakes made by new comers. SEO is not dead, and it works because it simply connects consumers with the information they are looking for through the words or terms used to find it. Place ads and links exactly where a customer would go to find it.

Although you should not run too many campaigns at the same time, do not limit yourself to one category. There will always be spikes and lulls in sales and growth and diversification is necessary. Always remember that affiliates bring the consumers they reach back to the advertiser who is responsible for the actual sales transaction. Affiliates link consumers to products and services.
