3 Technical Aspects of Setting Up An Internet Sales Funnel

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Although there are all kinds of variations, the bottom lines is that a sales funnel gives you a single place to advertise. You only need a single list of prospects, a single blog, a single squeeze page or LCP. You need one place to advertise.

If you have twenty-five different products, you don’t need to try advertising each one. You need a funnel with one defined entry point. Once people sign up to your list, in time they will find out about everything you have to offer, and find something they like and become a buyer / client. You may have two lists – one for those who have purchased and the other for those who have not. But, to start you only need one list. Building a list is one of the most important things you need to do.

Owning a WordPress dot org blog is the way to get organic (free) traffic. You can place your lead capture form on it and all your products and/or your affiliate merchandise.

Here are three technical aspect of setting up an Internet sales funnel. You need a:

1) Lead Capture Page (LCP)

A lead capture page is a web page you send your traffic to; make your main purpose clear, which is to click on the button and enter their information. Don’t have distractions on the page that keep them from seeing the call to action. You can do an online search for LCP examples to get an idea how they should look. Your LCP will direct prospects to your sales page.

2) Sales Page

Your sales page will provide a solution to prospects problems. You can use a video (bridge video) for an introduction where they can see you. Introduce yourself, relate to them, introduce them to the solution, and then send them to the sales page. Present a sense of urgency; limited time or limited space to bring them to the call to action. You can use the video before or after the capture page. It depends on what and how you’re promoting.

You might be promoting a webinar that shows the benefits of your product or service. In which case, you will have used a LCP to get signups, and then present an offer at the end of the webinar.

Make the bridge video short, concise, and to the point. It’s used to build a rapport with the audience. Then send them to a sales video which will be longer and presents the solutions and benefits to problems they may be experiencing. The next step is sending them to the sales page, which offers more details of your offer or product. Show your prospects the advantages of having or using it. Discuss the main points in more detail. Don’t list every little detail or feature or button; just the main points that relate to your audience or prospects. If you’re selling for someone other than yourself, the sales pages are usually already done for you.

3) Follow Up

You need a way to contact prospects; an email service to send all the information you’re obtaining from the LCP. This is the backbone of your funnel. This is where you send all the information from the capture page. You can search the Internet for such services. You want to continue to build rapport with the list of people you now have. You want to continue to build on your interaction with them. Do this with an email service which provides an autoresponder. This is the backbone of your sales funnel.

With an autoresponder you can set up follow-up emails for whatever you wish and for as long as you want. You can set these messages to go out at certain intervals and for whatever period of time you wish. If you have something special to offer at any point, you can send a broadcast just for that.

You’ll be well on your way to online business success using these 3 Technical Aspects of Setting Up An Internet Sales Funnel: A lead capture page, a sales page, and an autoresponder.

3 Basic Internet Marketing Tips

by Rahimah Sultan

The internet is a massive marketplace with all kinds of people – buyers, sellers, marketers, specialists, etc. Your business has unlimited potential to grow when it targets the internet as its market. If you’re a business owner with a website, you’ll want to use Internet marketing. If you don’t, your website is almost useless. Here are three basic Internet marketing tips to keep in mind.

Be sure you have a blog

Blog marketing will greatly boost your connection with potential customers. It will give you the ability to get feedback about your company, products and/or services and communicate with them through the comments section.

If you’re just thinking about setting up a blog, you need to determine exactly why you want to blog and write down your goals. Next on the list should be a step by step guideline that will accomplish those goals.

Then you should learn everything you can from experienced bloggers and determine your own path. Copying others never works. Just use them as examples.

With a static website there are minimal updates, not much new information, and not much customer interaction. A blog makes your website more reader friendly, and Google friendly. Google loves new information. When you post new articles regularly you will get picked up by search engines, of which Google is the most popular.

Make sure your website looks the way your target audience expects

Don’t waste time or money on conceptualizing what your site should look like. Just try and get ideas from successful ones who are in the same market and business as you. Learn from them, and create your own familiar design.

A wisely designed website is the way to go. It doesn’t have to be fancy and perfect. It just has to appeal to your target market’s taste. For example, if your website is about targeting prospects for your jewelry business, make sure it reflects such.

Don’t stop with a website

Many business owners think that once a website is set up, it will run on its own and function properly as it’s supposed to. Setting up your website is only step one – the foundation. After you’ve created and established an online presence, you have to make sure to follow up with other online business needs, which include your blog, search engine optimization (SEO), and social network integration.

In today’s ever-changing online marketplace it’s not enough to just have a website. Your business requires marketing strategies the same as an offline business. For marketing success you must engage in effective promotion.

Whether you’re an established business online or off, or you’re working from home on your own, Internet marketing requires investment of time, energy, and money. There is no free ride. So, make sure you’re visible in the online marketplace to ensure you have a chance at success.

In summary, be sure you have a blog, make sure your website meets your prospects expectations, and don’t stop with just a website. These three basic internet marketing tips are a starting point.

5 Tips for Business Success

by Rahimah Sultan
photo from blog

Being successful in life requires a purpose and discipline to pursue that purpose. You must stay focused and avoid distractions. This also applies to business success.

You need to imagine yourself as a success. Daily visualize what your life will be like, what you’ll be doing, and how it feels. Decide what you like and are really good at and lay out a plan to get there. This will no doubt involve consulting with someone in your area of interest. Set clear goals and be realistic. Figure out what success looks like for you following these five tips for business success.

Focus on Your Main Objective

You might want to be a computer programmer or a software engineer. Research the requirements. It probably means attending school and getting certification. Or, you may want to be an Internet marketer. The same principal applies.

Write out a plan and begin taking steps toward that end. Don’t procrastinate. Break your goal into smaller goals and begin to work on those smaller goals. Set an overall timetable and times for finishing each smaller goal.

Avoid Distractions

Keep distractions at a minimum. It’s not possible to stay 100% focused 100% of the time. Just don’t let your goals take a backseat to them.

Find a Mentor

A mentor is someone who usually has a bit more experience than you, who knows the trade, offers advice, and helps you. A mentor will help you network, trouble shoot, and strategize.

Always keep learning. Gather as much information as you can. Take calculated risks.

Solve Problems

Successful people encourage progress by solving problems and answering questions. Can you make life easier for people in an effective way? Can you create a product or provide a service that fills a crucial gap?

Be Persistent

If your first attempt doesn’t work, pick yourself up and try again. Don’t make excuses. You will have failures. Failures don’t define you. They are learning experiences. Don’t repeat the same mistake. Don’t give up.

So, focus on your main objective, avoid distractions, find a mentor, solve problems, and be persistent.

Step out of your comfort zone. Don’t wait for opportunities to fall in your lap. Sniff them out. Successful people make big investments in their careers, in their businesses, in their education and, all investments involve risk. Use these five tips for business success to get started. Study your risks, make sure the odds are in your favor, and take a leap.

3 Tips for Promoting Your Site

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

If you are thinking about setting up an online business or wondering how to promote one, the following 3 tips for promoting your site will be helpful.

Decide what kind of business you want.

Decide what your business will be. Then set up a blog centered around that interest and promote it with content marketing using your own original articles. Blogging is a great way to establish your online presence. You can employ different marketing strategies to promote your site (blog). These can include articles for ezines, the use of social media platforms like Facebook, paid Ads through Google, and other avenues.

Be sure your blog is one over which you have total control, NOT a Blogger or a Blogspot platform. I recommend WordPress.org and NOT WordPress.com. If you use WordPress.org you will have to find your own hosting company and buy a domain name. Domain names cost about ten dollars a year, and you can use GoDaddy.com, NameCheap, com DomainOrb.com or another company of your choice to find a domain name.

Write content
Write content for your particular audience that solves a particular problem and encourages engagement. Content marketing is about sharing valuable information to attract prospects and turning them into customers and repeat buyers.

You can use your own fresh content to keep your blog up to date and that entices visitors to return.

Once you gain more visibility in the search engines you begin to look more authoritative. It’s human nature to gravitate toward those with authority.

Post regularly
Make regular posts to your blog and use SEO so you get found by search engines. Be sure to use a call to action (CTA) in your posts with a clickable link that instructs people to click for information or products that you are offering which can help solve their problem. If you have a list you can keep them updated about your latest posts.

Before setting up your blog, take time to carefully decide whom you will be writing for and the type of content that you will include.

One of the best ways to showcase your knowledge and skills is to provide content that can help your audience.

You can share your blog content on social media to encourage communication with your target audience and then use those channels to promote audience participation by redirecting them to your blog or a particular post, and you can ask for feedback.

So, thoroughly consider the type of business you want, set up your site, write content to promote your business and gain authority, and make regular posts to your blog. Using these 3 Tips for Promoting Your Site will help you get started.

10 Rules for Small Business Success

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

As a new entrepreneur you need to follow certain rules for small business success. You need to quell the enthusiasm a bit and focus on starting out right to avoid later disappointment.

Here are 10 of the most important rules for small business success:

1. Start small and grow. Don’t try to sell to everyone. You need a niche – a specific product or service so that you’re not competing with everyone.

2. Concentrate on what will be the bread and butter of your business. Don’t try to implement all your entrepreneurial ideas at once. You can branch out later.

3. Make sure you have a product or service that customers really want.

4. Develop a business plan that forces you to think through the basic elements of your company, i.e. your market, competition, industry and your position.

5. Know your customers. If you have a clear target market you can be much more effective and efficient in both your product development and marketing efforts.

6. Build one business at a time. Concentrate on one new direction, product or service, one target market or one distribution channel at a time.

7. Don’t re-invent the wheel. Get a piece of an existing market. Creating a market for a brand-new type of product or service is difficult, time-consuming and expensive.

8. Double the estimate of the time and money you originally think you’ll need. Things cost more and take longer than planned.

9. Keep things short and use lots of photos. People don’t like to read.

10. Build strong customer relationships. People like to do business with those they know, like, and trust.

Online Marketing: What Is It?

by Rahimah Sultan
photo from blog

Online marketing is using the internet, to reach people, to spread the word about you and your company’s products or services.

It is doing anything you can do online to get more people seeing what you have to offer and to get them to eventually buy from you.

Online marketing is a broad category with several sub-categories that include SEO, SEM, content marketing, social media marketing, PPC advertising, affiliate marketing, and email marketing.

SEO is the process of using certain words (keywords) in your online content to enable search engines to pick it up and show it as a top result for anyone searching for those words.

SEM is paid. Whereas SEO is used for organic searches, you can pay to get hits to your site which will get you top ranking in search engine results.

With SEM you have to have a paid product or service in order to do well or you will not be able to afford the cost. Do not use this method when starting out online and offering free content.

Content Marketing is a method focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to a particular audience with the intent of an ultimate profitable customer action.

Social Media Marketing is done on hundreds of social media networks. You have to choose the platforms that work best for your type business. The context must fit the platform.

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is just that. You pay for each click received on your ad. It’s similar to SEM which is only one special type of PPC advertising.

Affiliate Marketing is directly communicating with your audience and customers. You can easily engage directly with your customers with this form of marketing, and it’s a great way to sell products and services.

Email Marketing is used once your customers have given you permission to contact them. You can email them at any time, providing value and asking them to buy when the time is right.

With the power of the internet and these forms of online marketing you can work from home after your day job or on weekends to build a very profitable business. As with anything worth having, you must be willing to put in the work.
