The term was originally weblog and then weblog became just blog. The term blog is also used as a verb that means to add information or posts. Since the mid-1990s blogging has become progressively easier with easy-to-use publishing tools and is now the predominate way of self-publishing.

If you own a business or home business and want to spread the word about it, blogging can be a method of doing so and a way of branding yourself. You can write articles about your products or services and post them on your blog with a link to those products or services.
