Optimizing Your Squeeze Page in Your Ezine Articles

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

I just found some great information on optimizing your squeeze page in your ezine articles.

Squeeze pages are landing pages that are set up to get your visitors to give you their information so that you can build your list of prospective customers. They ask visitors to subscribe to whatever product or service you’re offering such as newsletters, videos, consulting, among other things. They are more than an opt-in box on your site, since there is usually only one choice.

The article shows you how you can build a list of highly qualified leads using your articles to do so. It details things to consider before linking to your squeeze page in the ezine articles.

If you’re including a link to your website, is it relevant, easy to navigate, transparent, is the material compelling, and is there balance. If so go ahead and link to your blog or website and your squeeze page in the Resource Box of your article submission.

If you’re not planning to include a link to your blog or website, you need to consider other things and then link to your squeeze page in the Resource Box of your article submission. Here’s a great flow chart to help.

Check out these great tips for Optimizing Your Squeeze Page in Your Ezine Articles.

6 Advertising Tips

by Rahimah Sultan

There are many options available for advertising your business. Six advertising tips are listed here that could be the best way to reach larger audiences within a short period of time for the least amount of money.

Create a website

You can create a website and then place a link to it on other sources that accept ads.

You can optimize your pages and submit them to search engines. Some take money for placing an ad or link on their website, some take money only if a visitor clicks on the link or website and some take money only if the visitor visits a link and buys a product or service. There are many options available for the type of ad to be placed. These include pop-up ads, banner ads, wallpaper ads, video ads, etc. A low-budget option is sending emails to targeted customers.

Presentations of your products

Another way to advertise is giving presentations for your products. Brochures and business cards can be inserted into the business presentation package. Be sure to have accurately designed business cards that include all the vital information about the business like the name of the company, location, services provided, hours, phone number, cell number and contact person. Personalized business cards are a good way to reach customers.

Distribute newsletters with information about your latest offers and discounts. Informational letters of a page length and e-mails can also be sent on a regular basis.

All of this can be accomplished a lot easier by contacting companies who can provide the mailing list of a particular locality, for a small price. You can check the yellow pages for such companies. After getting the information get in touch with the company to get a copy of the latest mailing list. The fees differ from company to company.

Yellow pages

All businesses both large and small place ads in the yellow pages and have benefited. When you place the ad you should include your contact information and products and services.

Radio and TV stations

Radio and TV stations offer better prices during non-peak times, especially after midnight. Check with your local stations for pricing, time slots and discounts.

Newspapers

One can always use newspapers for advertising. First decide on your target audience – age group, sex, and location. Then choose the local newspaper and section where the ad will be placed depending on the audience to be targeted. The classified section of newspapers has special offers. Check the details of the pricing structure for the size of the advertisements, number of words, font size, etc.

Word of mouth

Last but not least, there’s always word of mouth. You can grow your network by joining organizations that deal with advertising like trade associations and chambers of commerce. Active participation in events of these organizations eventually helps you to reach a larger number of prospective clients.

Start using these 6 advertising tips in your business today.

Autoresponders: Getting Started

by Rahimah Sultan

Making money on the Internet with your new business can be a bit difficult unless you have an autoresponder.

An autoresponder is the ideal way to handle your daily business operation and save you time and money. Getting started with autoresponders requires a bit of research to determine which one best suits your needs.

If you have a limited budget there are places online where you can get free ones. Just know that they normally place ads on your emails, which will more than likely give your customers the wrong impression of you.

But if your budget is truly limited, it’s best to start with free and then upgrade as your finances allow, because an autoresponder is an absolute must for making money.

The first thing you’ll need to do when you get your autoresponder is set it up with follow-up messages or articles that relate to your business or products, so that the email messages you send out contain material that relates to your offers.

Do try to create some of your own if you can. If you use pre-written emails, change them up a bit to reflect your own style of writing.

When you load your autoresponder try to load it with at least 52 messages. This way, you’ll have something to send for each week of the year. If you have trouble there are places online where you can get your material for free. If you simply don’t have the time, start with a few messages and add more as you can.

Once you have your autoresponder preloaded with messages or articles, you’ll need to set up your signature. Your signature will be displayed at the bottom of every message your autoresponder sends, and it should be your name and the link to your business. You can also add a short description of your business. Your name and link to your business shows your customers you are a professional.

Once you have everything set up you can start sending out emails. Your autoresponder can be set up to send messages automatically. You can send out emails daily, weekly, or monthly. The choice is yours. Most autoresponders are flexible, easy to use, and will send out your messages when you decide.

Marketing Roadmap Success: Getting Free Traffic Part Two

by Rahimah Sultan

This is part two of Marketing Roadmap Success: Getting Free Traffic. In part one we covered getting backlinks, SEO and better SEO positioning. We will now discuss social networks, forums / discussion boards / online communities, video sharing, and review sites.

As stated before, the series contains seven videos. This article covers the last four of the seven Marketing Roadmap Success strategies for getting free traffic to your site.

1)  Social Networks

Facebook and Twitter are both social networking tools, like an online community. You can use them to find people you know, business partners, and business groups and prospective connections. To sign up is free, and you can easily integrate the two so that people can keep up with you and get to know you better. This is a way of building trust between you and prospective clients.

2)  Forums, Discussion Boards and Online Communities

Forums, discussion boards, and online communities are similar to blog posting and comment posting so there are not a lot of different things to learn. You just have to follow the guidelines for each. To find forums and the like, just do a search online for ones that suit your needs. Used correctly these methods can get you good backlinks and good traffic back to your site.

3)  Video Sharing Sites

Video sharing gets traffic back to your site, especially if you use You Tube and Facebook and integrate them with Twitter.  The tools you’ll need for videos depend on the kind of videos you want to make. There are paid and free versions of video tools. Using this technique with other online advertising methods can multiply your exposure.

4)  Review Sites

A lot of people go to review sites to decide whether or not they want to buy a certain product. There will probably be a review site for whatever niche or market you’re in: travel, movies, books, games, holidays, cars and products. You can contact the industry owner and find out how to get listed for a review.

Otherwise you can find a lot of individuals who are website owners, one-person businesses and internet or affiliate marketers.  You can go to forums and find review sites. The video covers the procedure for doing this. Find sites and be ready for them to honestly review you.

By incorporating these four strategies into your marketing, you can get increased backlinks and exposure for your Marketing Roadmap Success: Getting Free Traffic strategies.

Affiliate Link URL Masking

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

What is Affiliate Link URL Masking?

If you are an affiliate marketer you have links that look like the following examples.
1) http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Wireless-Reading-Display-Globa lly/dp/B003FSUDM4/ref=amb_link_353259562_2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIK X0DER&pf_rd_s=center-10&pf_rd_r=11EYKTN682A79T370AM3&pf_rd_ …

2) http://secure.hostgator.com/~affiliat/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=bcdefg

3) http://www.safelisttactics.com/?rid=118???

These links could and should be masked with shortened links like the following.

1) http://tinyurl.com/Kindle

2) http://tinyurl.com/6u9d26e

3) http://tinyurl.com/safelists-mktgg

Although there are numerous programs available, these are examples using tinyurl.com

Reasons for Link Masking

As with the first two examples above, sometimes your domain is too long and complicated to spell and/or write. Or you may be using free hosting that does not give you a dedicated domain but just a subdirectory of their domain. Using a shorter, more understandable and eye pleasing link will add a big boost to your online marketing.

Another big reason to mask affiliate links is to keep people from stealing your money. Anyone who is actively promoting other people’s products and/or services as an affiliate could be losing money from hard earned commissions because of those UGLY long affiliate URLs that target you as an affiliate, and scare away your visitors and/or potential customers.

Affiliate link masking sounds pretty obvious. All you’re doing is replacing that UGLY long affiliate URL with a nice cloaked (forwarded inside an invisible frame), professional domain name like the short ones listed in the above examples, that remain sticky.

Sticky simply means that the URL remains the domain name you chose, once your visitor has clicked on it, and it doesn’t redirect back to the UGLY long affiliate URL you started with. This makes you, the affiliate, look professional in the eyes of your visitors and/or potential customers. They don’t know if you are an affiliate or the actual web site owner. A web site’s stickiness is important to online advertisers because the longer visitors stay on the site the more exposure they have to potential advertising.

And lastly, people just don’t like to click on strange looking long links.

How does URL Masking work?

In case of URL Masking the Domain Forwarding server sends the client a Frames page where the Frame Source contains the destination URL you have specified. This ensures that the URL in the address bar of the browser does not change when the client sees the destination page.

As Web surfers become more knowledgeable of how affiliate programs work, more people will omit your affiliate ID or use someone else’s ID when ordering. Either way, you may lose commissions you’re supposed to get. Using full window frame page is probably the most effective (though not perfect) way to prevent such loss. In fact, practically all affiliate link cloaking software uses this method. The address bar won’t display your affiliate URL unless the affiliate site has a frame breaker (e.g.: Gmail). If visitors book mark the site, they will come back to your frame page. This means they use YOUR affiliate ID every time, and this could translate into sales.

Although masking your URL address can be very effective for marketing, in some cases it’s not necessary and disturbs the normal navigation of the user. So be sure to use URL masking only when it’s really necessary, and help convert more of your visitors into SALES!

There are many services online that offer this. Simply go to Google and do a search.

If you are a serious Affiliate Marketer and/or are just starting out online with affiliate programs then this is something you’ll definitely want to look into. Not only will you look professional in the eyes of your visitors and/or potential customers you’ll also be safe guarding your hard earned affiliate commissions with affiliate link URL masking. When visitors come to your site, the link is their first impression, and first impressions matter, especially when doing business online.

Decide whether you want a home job or a home business. 100 Percent Traffic

WOW! – Why hasn’t someone thought of this earlier?

Matthew Graves just launched his latest site, 100 Percent Traffic, and I just love the “Universal Credits”.  That is going to save so much hassle!

At 100 Percent Traffic, you get to earn your credits how you want and then spend them in the way which is most effective for you.  No more banner credit, text ad credits, mailing credits, and traffic credits.  This site simplified the whole thing down to just one type of credit – the Universal Credit.

Universal Credits can be earned by clicking links in emails, surfing the traffic exchange, or playing the Banner Blast or Text Ad Treasure Hunt.  They all go into a single Universal Credit balance.

Once you have earned your Universal Credits, you can assign them as you wish to all your promotions.  Use them to email members with the full-featured built in mailer.  Use them to have your site shown in the Traffic Exchange.  Use them to have your Banners and Text Ads shown on the site and in the apps.  You get to pick what works best for you.

No more worries about converting traffic credits to banner credits, or having too many text ad credits and not enough credits to send emails.  The site handles it all for you.

Just like the name says, the site also offers 100% commissions on the Premium Upgrades of those you refer.  What a great way to create a recurring income.  Matthew’s last 100% commission site, 100 Percent Mailer generated almost $20,000 in commissions for members in just it’s first month!  Make sure you upgrade to Premium when you sign up so that you can get those 100% commissions.  Free members get 30%.

A Home Business Is A Family Friendly Option

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

The overwhelming amount of time constraints placed on parents has contributed to the decline of America’s cohesive family. Both parents are now expected to work full-time jobs, be excellent parents and keep up the household responsibilities while trying to squeeze in a social life. Time is divided among soccer games, PTA meetings, homework, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, errands, visiting friends, hobbies, home repair, vehicle maintenance, volunteer work, reading, after hours meetings with clients, going to the gym, doctor’s appointments, retirement and college fund planning, quality time with the children, conversation with your spouse, sex and getting your hair done! No wonder we’re exhausted before ever getting out of bed!

In today’s world of two-income families, rising divorce rates and out of control children, many families are stopping to consider what went wrong and what can be done to turn things around. A home business is a family friendly option.

Many heads of families are considering working from home to relieve some of the stress while still bringing in extra income. With a home business you can set your own schedule and work at your own pace while dealing with your responsibilities in all aspects of your life. You will no longer have to explain to the boss why you simply cannot work late Wednesday night, as your daughter will be having her first public performance as a flower, while trying not to sound like a wimp.

4 Steps To A Successful Internet Business

by Rahimah Sultan

photo from blog

Having a successful internet business is simply a matter of understanding how things work, and applying that knowledge. Following are 4 steps to a successful internet business.

Find something you feel is a good business opportunity

You can search the internet for all sorts of business ideas and opportunities. Searching on any search engine with the keywords Work At Home, Business Opportunities, Home Based Business, Affiliate Programs, Make Money Online, etc., will produce 1000’s of results. Affiliate programs are good business opportunities because the ONLY thing you need to do to run your internet business is to market your affiliate link. With a traditional business you have to deal with inventory, storage, packing, shipping, complaints, returns, phone calls, emails, checks and credit cards just to name a few! With affiliate programs, once someone has clicked on your affiliate link your only job is getting the next person to click on it.

Get your own webpage

You want to put your internet business on a webpage of your own. A webpage is like a store front. It projects an air of professionalism. Think about it. Do you feel the same about buying from a vendor on the street as you do about buying from a person in a store? They’re both vendors, but you’re more trusting of the person who has a store than you are of a street vendor.

Your webpage does not have to be fancy. If you only have a brief description of what your webpage is about along with individual descriptions of your product or products people will respect that. If it’s an affiliate program you have decided upon, simply put a BRIEF description of what is being offered along with your affiliate link. Do not disclose too much in your description because people might think they know what it’s all about and not click on your link. You want to let your affiliate website do all the selling for you. These sites are professionally designed to maximize the number of people who buy or join so a brief description, just enough to spike their curiosity, is sufficient.

Get your own blog

Get your own blog and make one post a day. A blog, short for, “Web Log,” is a great way to establish yourself as an authority figure on whatever topic you decide. As people return to read your daily articles, they will eventually come to view you as an authority on whatever your blog is about. They’ll eventually develop confidence in what you are saying, and will begin to trust you. As a result some people will check out your webpage to see what you have to offer them, and people tend to buy more from people they know and trust. Their confidence in you will be an additional factor that will compel people to buy from you. There are many places online that will host and let you set up your blog for free, although it’s best to have your own blog and not a free one.

Write and submit articles to article submission sites

This is the most important. This is how you’ll get FREE advertising. People are searching the internet for free information. When you submit your articles online, the search engines will eventually find them and will spider every word. When people do a search using keywords or phrases that are in your articles, they will turn up in the search results. So, be sure to insert highly searched-for-keywords and phrases into your articles. You’ll need to include your bio at the bottom of all your articles. Your bio (known as your resource box) will contain a brief description about who you are along with a link to your website. An example is: Jane Smith is the owner of yoursite.com. Jane helps people to work at home using various business opportunities that include affiliate programs. If you desire your own home based business visit (insert your complete site address including http://)

The more articles you write and submit, the higher the chances are of your articles keywords and phrases showing up on search results. The more links you have pointing back to your website, the higher your website page rank will be in the search engines, meaning the higher up you are in the search results the more likely your page will be seen. So don’t stop writing and submitting articles. But, they must have quality informative content. Take your time and check your spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, etc. No one will take what you have to say seriously if you don’t write correctly.

Having a successful internet business is simply a matter of understanding how things work, and applying that knowledge. It does not take any special skill or any great intelligence. If you follow these steps, you cannot fail. The most important thing, as with anything in life, is persistence.
