Affiliate Marketing Allows You the Freedom to Work From Home

The rise of the internet has had a profound effect on all our lives, radically altering how we live and work. In our on-demand society, one of the single most important benefits has been the ability to work from any place in the world and digitally earn an income. This idea appeals to scores of people who are frustrated with the 9-to-5 life and are seeking ways to free themselves from corporate responsibility.
You can start or boost your business using the internet and various platforms. A good place to begin is with affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing allows you the freedom to work from home.
What Is Affiliate Marketing? When you sell anything for anyone else and you receive a commission for it, you’re marketing as an affiliate. You’re independent and on your own, not just a salesperson working for that company. Although there are no limits that need to be met, the more you sell the more you earn. You can effectively earn money by marketing for many companies at one time. There are no limitations and you don’t need to create your own products or services to earn money selling anything in this format.
Affiliate marketing success isn’t easy. Unless you have a significant audience or a platform, selling anything will require a substantial investment of both your time and money. You can’t do it without traffic – someone to see your offers.
You have to get people to care about you. You have to get them emotionally invested in you before you can sell them anything. Don’t try to sell something right away, at least not until people become fully vested in you and your personal journey.
You need to create a diversified platform. If you have a blog, don’t focus solely on that. Build a Facebook Group, an online forum, and other ways that you can stay connected with people.
Once you’ve built your platforms, develop and nurture your audience. Connect with them on social media channels. Respond to their emails. Engage with them in comments. Make it easy for them to reach you. You need to connect with your audience and develop that relationship over time. They need to get to know and trust you.
When you’re ready, search for the right product or company that’s relevant to your audience.
If you’ve taken the time to build an email list, you can use that opportunity to survey your subscribers. Ask them, specifically, what they’re most interested in. The answers can allow you to laser-focus your affiliate offers in the right direction.
When building an email list, you need to offer something in return. Use email providers like InfusionSoft, MailChimp, Aweber, or any number of others, to send out the email to a survey. Survey Monkey is good for building your survey. Determine the best thing to offer and be sure to get clear on what your audience needs to do and what you’ll give them in exchange.
It can be a free cheatsheet, a downloadable how-to ebook, or some other useful item.
You then need to apply to related networks such as ClickBank, CommissionJunction, Rakuten’s LinkShare, and Impact Radius, which are some of the larger affiliate networks, or numerous others.
Just know that you must submit an application to most of these networks to be accepted. Once you’re accepted, you’re often required to apply directly to the merchant afterward. So there are two layers or gates that you need to bypass. That’s also why it’s important to build up your platform and create that emotional bridge between yourself and your audience before attempting to promote anything to them.
Now you need to build content to promote. You can use countless mediums of which your blog is the most important. Build content that delivers massive value and that is engaging.
Every single network or merchant will provide you with specific links that you can use to promote whatever it is you want to sell. Be sure to study the details of any offer that you decide to use. Then, build out your affiliate links and ensure that the sales and clicks are registering to your account. You can use URL shorteners like Bitly or one of these to make the links more manageable in terms of length.
Affiliate marketing allows you the freedom to work from home. So be persistent and don’t give up.

Internet Marketing Without a Website
by Rahimah Sultan
If you want to market online and don’t want to build and/or maintain a website, there are plenty of opportunities to earn money online as an affiliate marketer – no website or blog required. Following are 3 options.
Forums
Whatever your niche, you should interact with like-minded individuals on forums and blogs. In forums you can put your affiliate link in the signature line, and on blogs place it in the comments.
When starting out in forums, you must follow the rules which will be stated, and you must interact and add helpful content. Don’t start mindlessly posting your link. That is spamming and you will be blocked.
Some forums don’t allow affiliate links in the signature, especially if you’re a new member. So, you can purchase a domain for your affiliate link. That way when a visitor clicks on your domain it will redirect to your affiliate link. This makes you look very professional, and you can use the domain in other places as well so that people get to know you. The more active you are in the forum, the more likely people are to view your affiliate link/signature. Warrior Forum, Digital Point, WickedFire, and Marketing Checkpoint are affiliate marketing forums.
For an affordable domain provider I recommend GoDaddy or Namecheap.
Hub Pages
HubPages is a popular revenue-sharing site that’s a great option to try your hand at affiliate marketing in a subject with which you’re familiar. Users create ‘Hubs’ that are filled with useful content, videos, polls, and other category-focused information. You’ll have hundreds of topics to choose from, ranging from art and design to weather.
Besides flexibility in sharing, HubPages has affiliate programs built right into their platform. As a ‘Hubber,’ you can easily take part in the HubPages Amazon Program and their eBay Program. This means you can create hubs that are almost instantly set up to be monetized!
Since HubPages is built on user-generated content, the more helpful your content the better your chances of attracting an audience. As your audience grows, you’ll stand a greater chance of making money if you’re sharing genuinely helpful content that links to products readers will like.
Note: Some areas do not allow affiliating with Amazon, due to multiple tax rates within the state.
Social Media
Social media offers a free way to share your affiliate link. You can place the link in your Bio, then create valuable content for your followers, and encourage them to visit your Bio link.
You can do this on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, to name a few. But remember, since you don’t technically own your social media accounts, you must follow the rules of each site regarding affiliate links.
No matter where you decide to promote affiliate links, you should always provide valuable content first and foremost and only include affiliate links when it makes sense. It’s also a good idea to use affiliate links only occasionally. Not everything you create should be for the sole purpose of making a sale.
Of course there are plenty of opportunities to earn income online without building and/or maintaining a website, but forums, HubPages, and social media offer you a great place to start.

Affiliate marketing is the basis for all other Internet marketing strategies. It originally involved lots of spamming, trademark infringement, false advertising and more. Now it is safer to do business online because of advanced scrutiny of terms and conditions by the merchants. As affiliate marketing opened up more opportunities, it also increased marketing competition.
Affiliate marketing was started on music-oriented websites. They placed a list of music albums on their site and paid others to put those links in their websites when a visitor bought an album through their site.
In affiliate marketing, the publisher incurs all the cost except that of initial setup and development of the program, which is incurred by the merchant.

Steps to a Successful Affiliate Marketing Strategy

I ran across an article titled 10 Steps to a Successful Affiliate Marketing Strategy that laid out what affiliate marketers needed to do to succeed in 2015 and beyond? The operative words are “and beyond.” The author states, “Many first-time affiliate marketers make the mistake of going one mile wide and one inch deep: trying to dominate forty niches in their first few years.” Marcus Taylor covers ten steps to a successful affiliate marketing strategy that include:
Using valuable content, building a brand that adds value to the customer, building a foundation of recurring revenue, and more.
He also says you should use more than one traffic source, have a mobile-friendly site, and find products that add value to the site’s readers and that also have the potential to increase the site’s revenue by an order of magnitude. In his “10 Steps to a Successful Affiliate Marketing Strategy” he points out the fact that affiliates need to be creative and outthink the competition.

Affiliate Marketing: Some Myths You Need To Know
by Rahimah Sultan
Are you a brand manager or a marketing director or the all-in-one head person of a start up? Maybe you are considering setting up an affiliate program for your business. There are some misconceptions about affiliate marketing—some myths you need to know.
One is that affiliate systems are quick and easy to manage. 2) You need to work in a very popular niche in order to make it work. 3) Affiliate marketing is an old strategy, 4) In order to have success your product has to be on as many sites as possible.
As far as affiliate systems being quick and easy to manage, there is a lot of competition. The problem of niches is solvable, affiliate marketing is far from being a thing of the past, and you do not need to have your products on a bazillion sites.
Steve Olenski debunks these myths in his article 4 Myths About Affiliate Marketing You Need To Know. There is a lot of competition in affiliate marketing, a lot of companies do not even bother because they think they have too small a market, link building is outdated, and the best thing about affiliate marketing is quality not quantity.
For an in-depth understanding of these points you can read the article here.

You can start or boost your business using the internet and various platforms. A good place to begin is with affiliate marketing.
‘The beauty of affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to invest the time and effort to create a product to sell. You can begin selling something as an affiliate as soon as you have a platform to sell it on.’
There are two important rules to use when promoting products that are not your own:
1. Only recommend products with which you are familiar.
2. Never tell anyone directly to buy a product.
